DUANE EDDY WASHINGTON JR. IS AN AMERICAN BASKETBALL PLAYER FOR THE NEW YORK KNICKS OF THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION. GROWING UP IN GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN DUANE WAS BORN WITH A BASKETBALL IN HIS HANDS. WITH MULTIPLE HIGH SCHOOL STATE TITLES, NCAA RECORDS AT OHIO STATE, AND A PEDIGREE OF SUCCESS, DUANE IS READY TO WRITE THE NEXT CHAPTER IN HIS STORY.

Washington was born in Frankfurt, Germany while his father was playing for Frankfurt Skyliners. After spending his first years overseas, Washington was raised in Grand Rapids Michigan where he began to make his name. Following in his father (Duane Washington Sr) and Uncle (Derek Fisher), Duane was born and raised with a basketball in his hands.

THE EARLY DAYS

Duane was one of the Big Three on the Grand Rapids Christian basketball team (along with Michigan State commit Xavier Tillman and Oakland commit James Beck) that went 27-1 and reached the Class A finals. Washington was the point guard for one of the top teams in the state for three seasons, and plays for The Family in AAU. He was recognized for his leadership skills, passing ability and shooting ability. Duane was a leader on one of the best teams in Michigan high school history.

Duane Washington Jr. earned first-team All-State honors in his high school senior season at Sierra Canyon. He averaged 15.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists that season. He helped lead the High School Powerhouse to a California State Title.

As a “Buckeye for life” Duane was a leader of the OSU Basketball Program for 3 years. Consistently growing his role through the years, Duane was known for his electric scoring and leadership for the Buckeyes. Finishing his career with multiple big ten award honors, 1,000 points scored, and the all time Big Ten Tournament scoring record..Duane’s legacy at Ohio State will live on forever.

OHIO STATE

After putting the nation on watch in the G-League Elite Combine, Duane earned an invite to the NBA Combine..where he showed out and started his legacy at the next level. Duane signed a two-way deal with the Indiana Pacers, and thrived in his first year of his professional career.

INDIANA PACERS

A succesful rookie year in Indiana has led Duane to Phoenix, where he begins his journey in the Suns organization. Built to win Championships, Duane enters the organization as the youngest player on the roster. Excited to make his mark on and off the court in Phoenix.

Year 2 with the suns Duane played in 31 contests about 13 minutes per game. Averaging 7.9 points, 2.1 assists and 1.2 rebounds. He was then released halfway through the year and signed with the New York Knicks to finish his second year.

PHOENIX SUNS

Year 2 Cont… The Mecca. The Garden.

Duane signed to a two way in March of 2023 to finish the rest of Year 2. Excited to showcase his abilities on the biggest stage in the NBA, Duane had hip surgery that have set him back, rehabbing from April to October. His dedication, grind, and work ethic, he will conquer this and be back stronger than ever.

More injuries continued to sideline Duane… After returning from hip surgery, he was sidelined for 7 1/2 with three torn ligaments in his right thumb, then another 7 1/2 weeks after breaking the same hand thumb. A rough year three for Duane as he only played a total of 14 games in the G league averaging 23.5 points 5.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds. We are looking forward to a healthy next year.

NEW YORK KNICKS

Year 4… Duane has taken his talents to KK Partizan BC. Located in Belgrade, Serbia, Duane has traveled thousands of miles to compete in the second best league in the world, the EuroLeague.

Partizan BC is one of the most historic basketball organizations in the world. The excitement is brewing for his 4th year as a professional.
